Welcome to the annual Interlake Kids of Steel Triathlon, hosted by the Sulong Triathlon Group at the Access Aquatic Centre in Arborg, MB — now with an exciting new Super Sprint Triathlon option for ages 16+!

This event is designed to create a fun, safe, and encouraging race environment for young athletes, while also offering parents, older siblings, and first‑time triathletes the chance to participate alongside them.

Kids of Steel (Ages 6–15)

The Kids of Steel Triathlon is all about building confidence, encouraging movement, and having fun. With age‑appropriate distances and a supportive atmosphere, youth athletes of all skill levels are set up to succeed.

This is an unforgettable race experience for participants and spectators alike — full of cheering, high‑fives, and finish‑line smiles.

NEW: Super Sprint Triathlon (Ages 16+)

New this year, we’re introducing a Super Sprint Triathlon for athletes aged 16 and up.

 

This short, approachable race is ideal for:

• Parents who want to race the same day as their kids

• Older youth ready to take the next step

• Anyone new to triathlon looking for a comfortable, low‑intimidation entry

The Super Sprint follows the same athlete‑friendly format:

• Pool swim

• Protected bike route through town

• Track run finish

 

Age Categories & Eligibility

• Athlete age is determined as of December 31 of the current year

• Athletes may race in a shorter (younger) age category if preferred — just contact us and we’ll get you set up

What is involved in a Kids of Steel Triathlon
 

• First you swim the designated distance per age your category

• Then you move to Transition where your bike is waiting on a rack

• Put on your helmet, grab your bike, and head out on the bike course

• Return your bike to the rack, remove your helmet, and switch into your runners if using bike shoes

• Head out onto the track run and finish strong through the finish line — then celebrate!

All bike types can be ridden - mountain bike, BMX bike, road bike, etc.
